A community celebration of culture, stories, and shared heritage.

Project Description

Chelmsford Multicultural Heritage Day is a community-led celebration bringing together cultures through storytelling, arts, music, and shared traditions. The project captures local heritage through oral histories, creative workshops, and cultural exchange, celebrating the diversity that shapes Chelmsford today.
This project creates space for communities to share their stories, preserve cultural traditions, and connect across generations. By celebrating diverse heritage, we are strengthening belonging, pride in place, and deeper community connection.

Funder Acknowledgement

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players, they support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Their vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings and the natural environment, to traditions, stories and more, heritage includes anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. They believe in the power of heritage to inspire imagination, create joy, and build pride in place and connection to the past.
